More girls should see themselves in STEM
Why this exists ?
Too many girls step away from STEM early, not because they lack ability, but because they lack exposure, context, or confidence.

HERizon is designed to change that by making STEM feel more visible, relatable, and approachable before students decide it’s
“not for them.”

What this builds
Confidence to explore unfamiliar spaces
Awareness of real pathways and possibilities
The ability to take a first step independently
Who this is for
Designed primarily for girls in Grades 8 to 10, a stage where students are beginning to explore interests, make subject choices, and form early perceptions about STEM.
How it works
A structured, recurring format designed to support exploration over time:
Small-group sessions (15–25 students)
Conducted as a series across the year
(not one-time events)
Each session focuses on a different STEM field
Includes short activities, discussions, and guided exploration
Ends with clear next steps and opportunities
What it feels like
Not a classroom. Not a lecture.
A space where trying, questioning, and figuring things out is the point.
A culminating experience
Each cycle builds toward a larger, interactive STEM experience, where students explore ideas, projects, and possibilities in a more open, collaborative environment.
