The Experience
A structured, recurring format designed to make STEM feel accessible, relevant, and worth exploring
Who participates
Sessions are designed primarily for girls in Grades 8–10, creating a comfortable and focused environment at a key stage of academic exploration

Each experience is built around four key elements:
Clarity
breaking down a field, idea, or problem into something understandable
Perspective
introducing real women in STEM and how they navigated their journeys
Engagement
creating space to think, respond, or try something hands-on
Direction
creating space to think, respond, or try something hands-on
What a session looks like
Each session focuses on one STEM field and follows a consistent structure:
-
Understanding the field — where it shows up in the real world
-
Real women in STEM — their work, paths, and challenges
-
A small activity or reflection — something to try or think through
-
Opportunities to explore — competitions, programs, or resources
How it works over time
-
Conducted in small groups (15–25 students)
-
Designed as a series across the year
-
Each session builds familiarity and confidence step by step
-
Creates a safe space for first-time exploration
What it can involve
Sessions may include discussions, short activities, mini-projects, or exposure to opportunities — depending on the theme.
